Muga Silk, Organdy Silk
Scientific name: genus Dioscorea
Tokoro refers to a family of perennial climbing vines that grow wild across Japan. The most common are "oni-dokoro" (devil tokoro) and "hime-dokoro" (princess tokoro). Members of this genus also include the Japanese delicacy "yama imo" (mountain potato) and the common yam. In September and October, small light-green flowers form in clusters around the base of its heart-shaped leaves.
